Most of people said that ACFTA is a global trend we cannot run for it. It looks like a kind of countries prestige measurenment, means the countries involved in it are the only brave, combat readiness and competitive countries. On the contrary, refusal of cafta will make you placed in the background.
ACFTA will make you get postfree for your export facilities with China and all Asian countries. But, ACFTA will also make you lost any import restrictions in your country. So any import merchandise could come in Indonesia without any tax expenses. Are you ready? Do we have better human resources than them? Will you be the winner in the global trading competition with no protection from the government? Or you may feel comfort in the fact that your country fully loaded with import merchandises?
Freshly, we take a benefit from ACFTA with mobile phone price war. Most of us had been having a cheap and sophisticated handphone, called “beri-beri” made in china. Sorry, I mean Blacberry artificial. Better known as black market Blacberry. Yeah, now we can get electronic goods with a very low price. That's the advantage of ACFTA.
One of my neighbours said, "Don't have to worry about ACFTA. We do not have to worry with the fulfillment of daily needs. The government has enough helped all our needs. We do not have to work hard just to earn a living The government gives many subsidies to us, such as BLT, JPes, PamDKB, BOS, raskin, labour intensive project, etc. Even if we're poor and unemployed, importantly we could buy products of daily necessity. No matter the goods made by foreign countries. This is the advantage of our prosperous country of Indonesia!" Well, guys, you see that?
In fact we get more assistance allocated to charity projects instead of empowering human resources. While transfer of technology from developed to developing countries only waste technology. When will our human resources be seriously dealt? Or should we wait until all potential natural resources of our country are being exhausted, and then we rushed to improve the human resources as the Japanese after the atomic bombs were dropped?
The disadvantage of ACFTA for Indonesian people is that Trading traffic has become unbalanced. The import merchandises are cheaper and better than the domestic goods. So the domestic real economy sector has being descending progression. Many textile industrialist has changed his position as a convection importer of China products. Some of metal accesories manufacturing factories in Tangerang were closed because the entrepreneur is more profitable to import goods from abroad. Well, Indonesian people will be a big consumer nation.
This phenomenon’s exacerbated by the government policies that’ve raised salaries of civil servants without the offset provision of adequate policies to protect the private sector. So you’ll see, that our economic growth rate’s equivalent to increasing the foreign debt. Because of increasing revenue, is from the funds of foreign debt, instead of the economy movement of the real sector.
And, parents, off course, will project the future of their smart children just to become civil servants. In such a way, the private sector will be deadlocked, because only those who remains fragile, lazy and stupid generation.Are you with me?
Or maybe you agree with many foreign goods circulating in Indonesia as long as civil service salaries continue to rise?
I realize that some of you may feel comfort with this situation. But let's think for the next generation interest. If routine expenditures of the government is too large while the private sector is decreasing, the shortcuts usually done by the government is raising taxes or selling state assets cheap to foreign investors.
Remember…this land is not the heritage of our ancestors. It is a land of our grandchildren deposit. Means, if we have always been spoilt such apparent prosperity, in time we will regret. ACFTA Therefore, in my opinion is not a good policy. It is a very ugly policy, at least for now, at least for us.
The Indonesian Association of young entrepreneurs (HIPMI) believes that the number of industrial areas, mainly small and medium-sized enterprises and special economic zone such as Batam, will certainly soon go bankrupt.......
ACFTA is a daughter of the liberal economic system that is used as a weapon by the high technology countries to plunder the natural resources of the developing countries. We must reject it. Say, "NO to the liberal economy. Say YES to the welfare economy. Reject ACFTA. Give protection to the private sector!"
Well, that’s just my opinion. The government has signed ACFTA. And now we are beginning to feel the impact of this free trade agreement. Slowly but surely other nations will meet all our needs until they ultimately decide who becomes in any of our needs. (and they may always be a superiority in technological excellence). So, what should we do?
Urgent that we can do to reduce the adverse effects of ACFTA are:
- Fed a feeling of love for domestic products; people should prefer to consume the local production of imported products.
- The government should provide tax incentives and ease of licenses to local companies
- Accelerate the science and technology domain. Therefore the attention of the Government towards the senior high school of vocational training (SMK) is necessary to improve. And BHP policy has entered into force in the universities should be reviewed immediately
- Foreigners may buy cheap natural resources and build enterprises in Indonesia as investment (?), but we have to ask them science and technology as compensation.
Please, don’t let this free trade agreement makes us lose both; domestic industry and the private sector out of business... ,searching of knowledge in schools is still expensive....!!!
